WORK HEALTH & SAFETY
Welcome to HAUSH Mates Workforce Work, Health and Safety. In this section, we are going to talk about why no job is too important to be safe.

Every year, SafeWork NSW inspectors attend serious or fatal incidents at residential construction sites that involve poor site security or housekeeping issues.
This video provides you with a brief induction on WHS laws and practical information on how to ensure your site is maintained and kept safe and secured when unattended.

Keep it secure. Keep it clean. Keep it safe.
INDUCTION GUIDE SAFETY
HAUSH has created an induction guide on safety to explore and educate our workers on what you should know about protection before you come on site.

In our company culture, each worker is responsible for their own safety and is encouraged to empower others on how they behave onsite.

This could be from wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to industry standards or simply following instructions such as ‘DO’s and DON’T’s’.

This induction guide will provide you a better understanding of basic protocols when working at construction sites.
SAFETY GENERAL BEHAVIOR
Working in construction can be dangerous, and there are several things that you should be aware of to help keep yourself safe.

Wearing the appropriate PPE is essential, and you should always be aware of potential hazards around the job site.

If you are unsure about anything, please ask a member of the safety team or your supervisor for guidance.

In short, we ask that you uphold your safety by ensuring that you have the proper equipment, follow safety procedures, and work in conditions that meet or exceed industry standards.

We know that you share our commitment to safety, and we thank you in advance for your help in ensuring that you go home to your family and friends at the end of each day.
SAFETY - IT IS ALL ABOUT CULTURE AND HABIT
Everybody strives to be a ‘HARD WORKER’ and we all know this is the key to success, however it can also be dangerous.

As a labour-hire worker, you will need safety precautions in place so that your well-being and those around you are cared for at all times - even when working alone!

A hardworking individual must always ensure safety by following industry standards for wearing proper attire or equipment use.
There might be moments where no matter how much attention we pay to a situation, anything can happen suddenly; it could be an uncontrolled action or a missing step.

This is why it is crucial to take a break, assess the situation at hand, and, if possible, ask for help from a colleague.
HAUSH'S WORKERS SHOULD FOLLOW THE RULES WHEN WORKING ON ANY JOBSITE:
Construction site accidents can happen anytime, and there's no telling what type of accident may occur. For this reason, all safety measures must be met or exceeded before workers begin working onsite.
WHITE CARD
MUST WEAR PPE
A white card (or general construction induction card) is required for workers who want to carry out construction work.
Personal protective equipment, commonly referred to as "PPE", is equipment worn to minimize exposure to hazards workplace injuries and illnesses.
DON'T TAKE
SLOW DOWN
taking risks should be avoided. Risk should be sized to check whether it would hurt others workers.
be calm and relaxed even during your busy routine at the workplace. Remember that accidents may happen, so keep the control.
HAND AND POWER TOOLS HANDLING:
The manual handling of materials is a risky business. There are protocols in place to protect you from hazardous situations like electrical shocks or falls caused by material that may be dangerous for their health.
Safety equipment has been designed specifically with these risks considered if followed correctly, however even without protective gear-manual handlers, it can still prevent many injuries by following basic principles such as keeping busy hands free from dirt/grime, etc.

It is important to ensure you have full protection by your equipments and tools, so these hazards can be avoided.
